As we finish our second week of 5 a.m. practices, we are starting to get excited/nervous for the season to begin. This week of practice we have had individual goals for ourselves. It is our job throughout practice to keep these goals in our head and use them to help make ourselves better as well as for the team. At the end of practice we pair up with a teammate to review our goals and decide if we have accomplished them or if there needs to be improvement. We have three different colored bands: green, yellow and red. Green means that we have met our goal and did an exceptionally good job at practice. Yellow means we did well, but there still needs to be improvement, and red means we did not do very well at meeting our goals for the day. By having these different goals, it gives us motivation, and holds us accountable for ourselves throughout practice. Friday is our first Speaker on Success (SOS). This guest speaker will help talk to us about personal goals, team goals, and things to look forward to for this season. They also help us to get motivated to work hard during the season. There is one more day left of practice in this week but we need to remember to keep working hard during practices as well as in the classroom.
